TEMPS Out of School Club is proud to have commissioned renowned Rossett-based wood carver Simon O’Rourke, whose beautiful works are inspired by nature, to create a very special piece in honour of Welsh culture and history.
To celebrate the National Eisteddfod coming to Wrecsam in August 2025, Simon has crafted a unique Love Spoon – a traditional symbol of Welsh heritage. This artwork not only reflects our nation’s history but has also been designed with a practical purpose for our children, doubling as a measuring stick.
The Love Spoon was first unveiled as part of the Gresford and Marford Village Scarecrow Trail, proudly displayed outside the school for the community to enjoy. It will now find a permanent home inside The Rofft School, where it will be displayed alongside the Welsh Eisteddfod Chair, celebrating both creativity and culture within our school community.
We are delighted to share in this celebration of Welsh heritage and thank Simon for his outstanding craftsmanship that will inspire our children for years to come.
