TEMPS has been operating for over 34 years and is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Charity No. 1184942, the Club is managed by Trustees. During term-time the club operates for children attending the Rofft School from Nursery to Year 6 and during the school holidays children from other schools are welcome to attend to the age of 14 years.
Location and purpose
TEMPS operates from a Mobile Classroom at the Rofft School Marford which is leased from Wrexham County Borough Council and we also have an Outdoor Classroom. The setting is registered with the Charity Commission and the Care Inspectorate Wales. Whist we do operate from the School Site, the TEMPS Club are legally and technically independent from the operations of the school.
The Club recognises that play is a vital component of a child’s life. To this end, we are committed to ensuring that all children at our Club have access to freely chosen, varied, and child centred play opportunities. The purpose of the Club is to provide quality, accessible Out of School Childcare offering a welcoming atmosphere.
A further objective is to advance the education of the children and training of the staff providing the childcare. The Club is inclusive in its approach and caters well for children with special educational needs.
The activities of the club are designed to extend the school curriculum and considerably contribute towards the way the school addresses the extended schools (and Every Child Matters) expectations. The Club offers benefits for children, which enhance their social development, their capacity to learn, their need to play, investigate and aim high to achieve their potential whilst enjoying their childhood.
